I draw each portrait by hand from your photographs, paying particular attention to the features that make each person recognisable. I spend time building up the colours, skin tones, hair and small details gradually in coloured pencil rather than using digital filters or AI.

Family portraits can include children, parents, grandparents, siblings or other special family members and they make lovely keepsakes for your own home as well as thoughtful gifts for birthdays, anniversaries, Christmas and other occasions.

You don’t necessarily need to have the perfect professional family photograph either, I do prefer separate photos of each person. If you have a photograph you love, send it over and I can let you know whether it will be suitable to draw from.

Choosing your photographs

Clear, well lit photographs give me the most detail to work from. Being able to clearly see each person’s eyes, facial features, hair and skin tone helps me create the best possible portrait.

Every portrait is individually drawn, so the finished piece is completely personal to the family it was created for.
